News from First Grade: May 16

Dear Parents,

We had a fun time on our field trip yesterday! Thank you to our chaperones for keeping up with our very energetic, soon-to-be second graders! I have really enjoyed teaching all of your sweet kiddos this year! It was the perfect class for such a special year for me welcoming Barrett. Thank you for everything that you do for your children and for our class. Hope you all have a wonderful summer!

Dear Parents,
It was so nice to be back and to get to see all of your sweet kiddos today! They were very sweet in welcoming me back. Looking forward to a great rest of the year!

Library: We have our last trip to the library tomorrow! Please have your child bring their books and bags back.

Our Learning Next Week: Math: Students will review math concepts taught throughout the year: doubles, making ten, subtraction, and time.
Science: Students will finish the unit in which they identified and compared the parts of a plant (flowers, leaves, stems, roots).

News from First Grade: January 30

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all having a wonderful last week of January! It is looking like Baby G will be arriving a bit late - although he could still surprise us! I am planning to be here the rest of this week and on Monday and Tuesday of next week. After that, I will go ahead and take off in preparation for Baby G's arrival and Alison Ivy will take over!

LIBRARY: We are going to the library on THURSDAY (tomorrow) this week. Please have your child bring their books and bags back.

Dear Parents,

We have been working hard this week and getting back into the swing of being back for a full 5-day week! We are working on being leaders in the classroom and setting good examples for our classmates and for other classes.
Mrs. Ivy (our long term substitute) stopped by yesterday and met the students and is excited about going on the field trip next week!

We had a fun day today learning about several different holidays that are celebrated at this time of year by rotating to different teachers' classrooms.
